Sunday through Friday----Adjudicated classes The public is invited to sit in on any class. It’s a great way to hear new music and learn from the adjudicator’s comments to the performers. They take place in various halls throughout Gonzaga University campus except for ballet division at Ballet Arts of Spokane (109 W. Pacific) and, Tuesday only, organ division at St. Mark’s Lutheran Church (24th and Grand). A campus map highlighting Musicfest locations is posted on our website. A $5.00 Festival Program with names of entrants, times and locations of all classes is available at the check-in desk for each division (Ballet, Brass, Flute, Organ, Piano, Reed, String and Voice). Monday through Friday---- Radio broadcasts on KPBX -91.1 FM 10am- 12noon Verne Windham features Musicfest Northwest all week with live performances and interviews of selected festival entrants Tuesday through Friday, and biographies and recordings of our adjudicators on Monday. Tuesday 12:30 pm--- Ann Chang-Barnes Piano Recital A student-oriented program by one of this year’s adjudicators. Cataldo Hall. Wednesday Evening----Young Artist Concert with the Spokane Symphony (Morihiko Nakahara, conductor) 2008 Young Artist winners from seven divisions perform with the orchestra. 7:30pm at the Bing Crosby Theater (the Met) in Downtown Spokane. Verne Windham of KPBX is master of ceremonies Thursday afternoon---Piano Play-offs Four “Adjudicator’s Choice” winners are chosen for Piano, our largest division (over 900 entries this year). Class winners compete for a chance to perform at the Highlights Concert. Cataldo Hall. Friday Evening---Festival Highlights Concert Featuring “Adjudicator’s Choice” soloists from each division 7:30pm at the Bing (the Met). Doug Clark of The Spokesman-Review is master of ceremonies.
